A bit of background

I've been building things for a while.

I grew up in Bucharest, got into programming at twelve because a computer and a dial-up connection were basically an invitation, and was building websites by fifteen. Tables-based layouts, if you need a timestamp.

The logical next move was obviously to open a bistro cafe in downtown Bucharest. It made no sense on paper and was the best commercial education I've ever had. Real customers, real margins, every decision playing out in front of you in real time. You figure out more about how people make choices standing behind a counter than you do reading about it.

I moved to Toronto in 2019, became a Canadian citizen in 2023, and now run EverNorth Ventures, a venture studio I built to create and back companies across technology, digital platforms, and new products. The commercial growth work lives under Cold Method, where I work with mid-market companies to fix the gap between what they're capable of and what they're actually closing.

Bruno & Mars.

Bruno Panait, Alex's labrador retriever

Bruno was my Golden Lab. He lived across two continents, crossed from Europe to North America with me, and was a steady presence through more chapters of my life than I can count. He passed away last year at thirteen years and four months old. Gentle, curious, always ready to go somewhere. He had a way of making ordinary days feel like they mattered.

Mars Panait, Alex's maine coon

Mars is my Maine Coon. Opinionated, watchful, largely unimpressed. He has also lived on two continents and adapted to Canada with the ease of someone who never doubted the move was the right call. He turns nine this September and continues to operate as a supervisor, a nap strategist, and the undisputed subject of most of my Instagram posts.

Say hello

Let's talk.

LinkedIn is the best place for work conversations. Instagram is mostly Mars. Both are worth your time, depending on what you're after.
